Since my wisdom teeth have been taken out, my bite has opened and my bottom teeth have shifted. Also, I had a filling the other day and the splint on my top retainer no longer fits. I leave the state in two weeks and am wondering if anything can be done in that time, as I am very concerned and stressed about my teeth shifting. I wear my retainer consistently every single night.
Hi there! I remember you coming in a while ago regarding some shifting and I recommended a TMJ followup with new appliance to help correct lower. Looks like it has progressed a little worse. Since you are going away, best thing to do in meantime is get your splint back in order so your TMJ doesn’t act up. Bring your splint and we can do a relign to get it to fit again. That will be an immediate procedure but you will have to wait for fabrication same day (like before) since you won’t be able to get a second appointment before you leave for school. We can plan how to fix the lower alignment in the future. Visit will take an hour. Tell scheduler your Telexam determined procedure to be immediate splint relign.
See you soon,
Dr Lance
